UNIVERSITY
TUITION FEES | University of Leicester Tuition
fees for 2012 entry: £9,000 What
they say: "Leicester
is unique. Of the UK’s top-15 leading universities, as ranked by the Times Good
University Guide, only one meets its government benchmarks for inclusivity for
students from state schools and lower socio-economic groups. That university is
Leicester. As the Times Higher described us, we are elite without being elitist.
In making our decision about fees we need to stay true to this characteristic. The
Government has announced cuts in University funding over the next four years that
will reduce our teaching grant by an estimated £31.5m. Our capital funding will
also fall. A higher tuition fee of £9,000 is therefore essential to protect the
quality of our work. But
we are determined that no able student should be deterred from studying by the
prospect of higher fees. We will therefore offer one of the largest and most comprehensive
programmes of scholarships in the sector." Source:

payable by UK (Home) and EU students on a full-time undergraduate degree course
in England. The system for international students has not changed radically and,
therefore, annual fees for international students are likely to remain unchanged
and higher than those stated on this page.
